What is the Mizuno All-American Summer Championship?

 

This tournament will be targeted towards the 16U, 18U and GOLD teams. This tournament will allow teams to play in a large championship tournament that will also include the attendance of many colleges. This tournament will be hosted in the Roseville / Lincoln, which is north of Sacramento. Each team will be guaranteed 5 games. We will have 4 pool play games, with a showcase format, and then all teams will advance to a single elimination bracket.

 

We will limit this tournament to the first 48 teams that sign up. This tournament will start Thursday, August 12th, 2010 and will end on Sunday, August 15th. All teams will play two pool play games on August 12th. All teams will play their 3rd pool play game on Friday, August 13th. All teams will play their 4th pool play game on Saturday, August 15th. We will then seed all the teams and all teams will participate in the SINGLE elimination bracket. We will have 24 single elimination games on Saturday afternoon / evening.  We will finish up the tournament on Sunday, August 15th. The Championship will be scheduled for Sunday, August 15th at 2pm.

 

The College Preview Night will be Friday, August 13th at Maidu Park in Roseville. It will start at 5pm and go for about 4 hours. How do I qualify for the Mizuno All-American Summer Championship?

 

 

There are 2 requirements you must meet to play in this tournament:

 

  1. All of your players are registered ASA
  2. Your team did not qualify for the GOLD Nationals

     

 

How do I sign up for the Mizuno All-American Summer Championship?

 

You can sign up by sending an email to asatournaments@yahoo.com with your Team Name, Contact Name, phone number and the City & State your team is registered in. Once you register your 2009 team, all teams can send a copy of their roster, proof of insurance and entry fee to 2644 Woodfield Way, Roseville, CA 95747, to the attn of ASA Tournaments. Remember, we can accept 48 teams. If you sign up & pay early, you will secure your spot for this tournament. If you qualify for Nationals, your entry fee will be returned to you. If you pay and decide not to attend, there will be no refunds.



 

College Preview

 

Those teams / players that would like to participate in the college preview can plan on working directly with Kelly Jackson from All American Softball School. You can contact her via phone at 916-374-1907 or via email at collegeprep@softballschool.com . You can get the forms to sign up for the preview at the following website www.softballschool.com. The preview will be held on Friday night, August 6th, at Maidu Park in Roseville. We will set aside 4+ hours at a designated site for all the college coaches to come out to view the players.

·         31 College Prep athletes participated

·         40+ college coaches attended

·         30+ colleges were represented, including from as far away as Virginia!

·         90% of all athletes’ profiles were requested by the college coaches

·         94% of the College Prep athlete profiles were requested by the college coaches

·         100% of the 2009/JC athlete profiles were requested by the college coaches

·         100% of the 2010 athlete profiles were requested by the college coaches

·         100% of the 2011 athlete profiles were requested by the college coaches

·         57% of the 2012 athlete profiles were requested by the college coaches

·         50% of the 2013 athlete profiles were requested by the college coaches

·         50% of the 2014 athlete profiles were requested by the college coaches

·         Several athletes have already been invited to some of the colleges for camps/visits

·         One athlete was offered a scholarship and gave a verbal commitment to a college as a direct result of preview!
